Why the name Purple Rain?
We were inspired by the jacaranda tree where the flowers fall on the ground and it looks like purple rain. It is such a beautiful sight, yet an important part of the trees cycle of renewal. A beautiful, sad, happy, meaningful and important time for a jacaranda tree and the beautiful purple flowers. we felt this cycle perfectly reflects our therapeutic style, using Acceptance Therapy as the central therapeutic style in practice. The practice also work with mood, stress and wellbeing and we felt the purple rain was a symbolism of depression, mood disorders or just the recovery journey. We also like the prince song - Purple Rain.
The psychology practice is dedicated to my dear cousin Jeremy Nisand who passed away by suicide on 12 March 2010.
